Short Term Mission Trips
Together a group of people are inspired and encouraged to go. Go means being part of a team that heads overseas usually for up to 2 weeks. These 2 weeks are mostly action packed but we do not go for ourselves. Our short term trips become a vehicle for God to bless those who we go to.
Mission Trips include ministering, building, supporting, assisting, teaching, fellowshipping, praying, worshipping and being. We really want time to be with those we go to and be a blessing to them. We sit and talk and just be.
Our Mission Trips all have a defined purpose that shapes the trip and we encourage people to get involved and experience parts of the world and know people that will change your life forever.
Our DNA
Short term missions trips are part of our DNA and we wouldn’t have it any other way. Each year we go out into our city, nation and around the world to serve, build, love, help, teach, equip and do whatever we can to make a difference.
How our Mission Trip Started
In 1962, Ps. Leo Harris, signed a working agreement with the Four Square Gospel Mission to supply workers and support their mission endeavour at Hageri & later Gotomi, near Goroka in the Eastern Highlands of PNG.
In 1963, Wayne & Jane Bienvenu & Dorothy Kitto were the first CRC missionaries and by 1970 more than 24 Australian missionaries had served in PNG
Ps. Barry and Rosalie Silverback and their children arrived for the first time in PNG in July 1967. Accepting God’s challenge, the Silverbacks moved permanently to Port Moresby in 1972 to establish our CRC work. Since that time the work has grown tremendously.
