Where no body stands alone

We identify and believe one of the vital ingredients needed to effective people ministry within a church community is having a healthy support network through caring Small Groups. Within this environment of small (connect) groups, people experience authentic community best and spiritual growth.

Our goal as a church is that the majority of Congregational Care at ACC is to be done through our Small Group ministry.  Caring and pastoral ministry is best done through a caring Small Group environment.

Join Us

We want to invite you to join one of our Connect groups.  Connects are a place where you can really get to know someone and share life.  It is a place of support, a place of learning, a place of relationship and a place of celebration.

Our Connect Groups take the time to continue discussing our recent Sunday messages and share in the ups and downs of life together.  We also have time out for BBQs, social events and other activities.   We would love you to Connect with us.

Ministry Focus
Our primary areas of focus are:

Accountable Relationships
We need other people in our lives to spur us on in spiritual growth and in our relationships.

Sense of Belonging
When we have a sense of belonging we feel accepted, connected and comfortable within a small group of people.

Caring Community
When we are accountable to one another and are experiencing a sense of belonging we then naturally care for those we are connected to.

Spiritual Growth
Spiritual Growth is defined around three vital relationships: intimacy with God, community with believers, and influence with non-believers.

Some of the things that happen at Connect

  • Bible Study: They devoted themselves to the …Apostles’ teaching
  • Fellowship: They devoted themselves to …fellowship
  • Communion: They devoted themselves …to the breaking of bread
  • Prayer: They devoted themselves …to prayer
  • Support: … they gave to anyone as he had a need
  • Social events: … they ate together with glad and sincere hearts
  • Singing: praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people.
  • Outreach:  And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

Biblical Basis for Connect Groups

  • Ecclesiastes 4:12 – Caring for one another is best done through a caring Small Group ministry.
  • Acts 5:42; Romans 16:5 – In the initial years of the early church, most of their church gathering occurred in homes. Others examples:  Acts 2:46; 8:3; 16:40; 20:20; 1 Corinthians 16:19; Colossians 4:15
  • Hebrews 10:24-25 – We were created for community and God wants each one of us to experience the benefits of authentic relationships.
  • Acts 2:42-47 – This passage of Scripture represents the foundation that the Early Church grew upon.  Here we identify eight key ingredients that model Small Group Ministry in the New Testament Church.
