What are we doing in Christian Education?
Adelaide Christian Centre (ACC) has a very clear and specific mandate for Christian Education. ACC governs as the ‘parent’ organisation, a group of Schools known as Adelaide Christian Schools (ACS). The Eldership of Adelaide Christian Centre act in their capacity as the Board of Governors for ACS.
Since 1978, ACC has been involved in providing Christ-centred Christian Education to people in South Australia. From humble beginnings, Sunrise Christian School began as a primary school at 95 Wattle Street, Fullarton in Adelaide. To date we have seen a further five Sunrise School Campuses open in paradise, Marion, Morphett Vale, Naracoorte and Whyalla in South Australia.
Then in 1983 a secondary school, Temple Christian College, was established in the suburb of Mile End in Adelaide. Since then, our second Temple Christian College Campus has commenced in Paralowie in the northern region of Adelaide. Both Sunrise and Temple have grown under God’s blessing to the point where there are now nine campuses in South Australia with about 2000+ students enrolled.
In 2010 Adelaide Christian Schools (ACS) commenced Sunrise Bethel Christian School in Port Moresby, Papuan New Guinea, in partnership with Bethel Christian Centre. In 2011 ACS ‘re-launched’ Faith Christian School in partnership with Faith Center Chruch in Walhalla, South Carolina, USA. Our most recent school is Discovery Christian College in Agnes Waters, Queensland. This school was established in 2014 and has significantly grown.
The Lead pastor of Adelaide Christian Centre is the Board Chair of Adelaide Christian Schools and Kym Golding is the CEO. Kym leads a fantastic and dedicated group of leadership and teaching staff. They are passionate about education and about seeing a generation knowing Jesus and gaining a high quality education.
Please keep the schools in your prayers as they reach out into the community creating new and exciting opportunities that change our society and bring the gospel into the lives of families.
